Continuing its push toward sustainable mobility leadership, the all-new EV9 delivered its best sales performance to date in April and Kia America shattered its all-time monthly EV sales record, increasing 61-percent over the previous record set in April 2022 total. Kia sold 65,754 units in April, with SUVs accounting for 81-percent of the mix.

The all-electric Zafira Electric is even better than before in terms of efficiency and range. It is available with either a 50 kWh or a 75 kWh battery. With the further developed 75 kWh battery on board, a range of up to 347 kilometres (WLTP1) is possible without stopping to charge – over 20 kilometres more than before.

CATL announced its plan to build the world’s largest superfast charging network with 10,000 superfast charging stations across 100 cities in 2024 and 2025. The plan will cater to the needs of tens of millions of vehicle owners, thus ushering in the era of superfast charging for the new energy market.

The Roland-Garros special series of Renault 5 E-Tech electric features an elegant and sporty design. Four body colours are available: pearl white, midnight blue, starry black and an exclusive shade of matt slate grey. These colours are a perfect match for the chrome satin-finish roof trim and Ecrou 18-inch diamond-cut wheels in glossy black. The Chinese market will have access to three variations of the EV5: standard, long-range, and long-range AWD. The long-range model, featuring an 88.1-kWh battery and 160-kW motor, aims to achieve a range of 720 km per charge. The long-range AWD model will feature a combined output of 233 kW.

Thanks to the 800-volt technology and a maximum DC charging capacity of 270 kW as standard, short charging stops are possible with the Audi Q6L e-tron. Up to 260 kilometers of range can be recharged in just ten minutes at an appropriate charging station (High Power Charging, HPC). The State of Charge (SoC) will increase from 10 to 80 percent within 25 minutes.

Today at Auto China 2024 under the theme of “A new Nissan for a new era in China,” Nissan unveiled four new energy vehicle (NEV) concepts and showcased a strong lineup of electrified models, underscoring its latest achievements and future direction in electrification. Nissan also announced that it will launch one more NEV in the market than previously disclosed, bringing the total of the planned vehicle launches to five by fiscal year 2026.

Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) is exhibiting at the 2024 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition* to showcase its efforts in China, centered around intelligence, electrification, and diversification, as part of the transformation into a mobility company. The Mazda EZ-6, unveiled today, is the first of a series of new electrified vehicles (new energy vehicles) developed and manufactured by Changan Mazda in cooperation with Mazda and Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. (Changan Automobile), and will be launched in China by the end of 2024. In addition, the concept model Mazda 創 Arata, unveiled at the same time, is scheduled to be mass-produced as the second new electrified vehicle by the end of 2025 and introduced in the Chinese market. In China, where electrification is rapidly advancing, Mazda will expand its lineup of electrified products so that more customers can choose them.

XPENG also announced its near-term plans including the comprehensive upgrade to its 800kW ultra-fast charging facilities in Q3 2024 that will make XPENG Smart EVs to achieve industry-leading charging speed of adding more than 1 km per second, optimizing charging efficiency for XPENG owners and further mitigating range anxiety.
